Week 8 NFL Bets (Recap)

By MoreThanFantasy 204 days ago

Week 8 Results: 1-2

Season: 6-4

LOSS. The Eagles (-2.5) didn’t pan out the way I expected, although Vick managed to not turn the ball over for the first time this year. The Falcons offense, led by soon-to-be-MVP Matt Ryan, dissected the Eagles secondary in the first half. At this point, the Eagles are a lost cause. I’m done believing that they will have those big games they have become infamous for over the last 2 years. McCoy is the only player that comes to play each Sunday, but they still find a way to not give him the carries he deserves. Note to self: don’t bet against the Falcons until they lose.

LOSS. The Seahawks (+2.5) had the lead with five and a half minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Stafford engineered a 16 play, 80 yard drive that culminated with a Titus Young TD. That’s just how the cookie crumbles. The Seahawks are now the most home-field biased team in the league; 3-0 at home and 1-4 on the road. Keep that in mind next week in their matchup at home against the Vikings. That should be a great game to watch and most likely a pick ‘em line.

WIN. The Giants (-2) came away with the win largely due to the Cowboys’ 6 turnovers. Romo had his 2nd disaster of a game throwing 4 INT’s. He did end up with over 400 yards, using Witten as a Madden character, to the tune of 18 receptions. Had Dez Bryant been more aware of his hand placement, I would be looking at a goose-egg this week.

To those who chose Green Bay in their survivor leagues this week, we’re still alive. Next week is full of juicy survivor matchups. Check out my picks next week for my survivor pick and hopefully successful spread picks.
